why i love my job

Posted by Aprille on Thursday, May 13, 2010, In : Homemaking
  • I have the best boss - He's handsome, charming, loving, and understanding. He is firm without being overbearing. He will adjust my workload based on my performance and extenuating circumstances in my life. When I fall behind in my tasks sometimes he even offers to help!
  • The hours are flexible - I make my own schedule (usually...unless the boss needs something at a specific time), I work at my own pace, and can take vacation days whenever I want.
  • The work has a lot of variety - While it is true...

My Favorite Christmas Recipe

Posted by Aprille on Sunday, December 13, 2009, In : Holidays

SOFT SUGAR COOKIES (I got this one off of cooks.com and it turned out WONDERFUL!!)

1 cup sugar

1 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

I found this pattern for a handbag in a random book I picked up at the library this afternoon. It was very simple and I was able to finish it in about four hours! I was so excited! Closeups can be found in this facebook album.

~making a house a home~ part 2

Posted by Aprille on Thursday, October 8, 2009, In : Photo blogs

I've taken a ton of photos of the decorating I've done of the new house, but it seems like putting a lot of photos in once post really bogs down the time it takes to load the page. So, I've opted instead to load all of the photos into one album on facebook, and post the link here. You do NOT have to have a Facebook account to view these photos. The album also contains all the photos of the house when it was still empty as well as photos from the first bout of decorating I did.

Enjoy! :)

Fall (or shall I say "Autumn" in honor of all of my Australian/New Zealand friends!)...Fall has officially arrived here in Kentucky. The leaves aren't changing quite yet but the temperature is definitely dropping. Most mornings it's in the 40s or 50s and I wander around the house in long pjs and a big fuzzy robe. I'm loving it really. The cold weather is giving me what I have d...
