It is of the small joys and little pleasures that the greatest of our days are built.- Mary Anne RadmacherJanuary and February have been very full months for our family. Full of ordinary days and ordinary moments. They have been fun and relaxing, but busy as well. Ordinary, busy, relaxing, and beautiful...
My husband has had a lot of leave (days off) since he got back from Afghanistan. The Army does this on purpose, to give the families a lot of time together for them to connect, reintegrate, ... Continue reading ...

Where have I been the last month? um...I'm not even really sure that I know! But, I'm going to attempt to remember enough to write this rather picture-heavy series of blog posts. I'm glad I take a lot of pictures, because without them I don't know if I would remember--it's been that crazy! _________
Shortly after Russ left to go back to Afghanistan, Ezra and I flew to Chicago to spend 10 days with my family again. Ezra managed to get sick - again - while we were there, but we had a
great time.... Continue reading ...

Baby Ezra
One of my favorite songs is Brad Paisley's "Then." If you haven't heard
it, I have posted a link below for you to listen. While it doesn't
perfectly describe the relationship I have with my husband, it does
capture the feelings that we share toward each other. It's been
amazing to look back over the past few years and see how far we have
come as a couple, as a family. And now our family has expanded to
include our little Ezra. While much about his entrance into this world
was difficult,... Continue reading ...

November was a good month for us. We started out with a pre-Thanksgiving trip to North Carolina to see Russell's family. The baby traveled amazingly well. On the way there we drove through the night and he slept the whole way except when he wanted to eat! Ezra had a lot of fun visiting family. We also took a day-trip while we were there to visit Ezra's "Aunt Maggie" down at Ambassador. We got to hang out on campus pretty much all day and meet some of Maggie's friends, as well as talk with som... Continue reading ...

Last night we got to drive up to Springfield, Ohio to see one of my bestest friends graduate from high school...again one of "those friends" who I met via the internet. This was our first time meeting "IRL" (in real life), after knowing each other for two long years in an online FRIENDSHIP! Kurt met us there, as he also is a mutual friend, so it was great to spend some time with FAMILY! Then of course we had to end the evening with some "mushiness." I think our LOVE grows sweeter every day! Continue reading ...

WIVES OF FAITH 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS BLOG CARNIVAL DAY 12. 1. The first thing I don't take for granted this year is God's amazing love...I know it may sound a bit trite, but God is showing me every day how much He loves me and cares for me, even when I don't feel worthy. It's so easy to feel like God can't show us love because we aren't perfect and disappoint Him so much, but the older I get the more I realized that God delights in giving us good and perfect gifts! 2. The second thing I don't t... Continue reading ...

WIVES OF FAITH BLOG CARNIVAL DAY SEVEN.I have to say that of all of the topics chosen for this blog carnival, this one will be the most difficult one for me to write. This post will reveal things about my life that sometimes I would rather left un-shared. And this post will probably make some people upset or at least stir up disagreement. When I was a child, Christmas to me meant about what it means to most other children of low-medium income families. I was always excited about the presents,... Continue reading ...

It all started out with my brother and art class (a very long
story that happened wayy back years ago and nobody can really remember how it got started)...and how everyone would say "mic" all the time. It was always mic this and mic that, like for instance, when they
would say McDonalds, they would really emphasize the "Mc" part. Then when they started listening to Christmas music in class of course it because MICmiss.
My family picked this up because Kurt brought home everything from art c... Continue reading ...

I'm thankful for him... Russ and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We took a very short trip down to visit his family in North Carolina. We spent Thanksgiving Day with "the family" doing the normal Thanksgiving activities like eating yummy food, exchanging a few gifts (because we won't be there at Christmastime), watching football, and doing crossword puzzles with Grandma and Uncle Gavin. On Friday we went to a huge craft fair in town and did some more Christmas shopping. In the evening all the... Continue reading ...
